Tasting notes
The 2015 Chardonnay Les Noisetiers is quite rich, which is hardly surprising given the personality of the year. Tropical fruit, dried pear, smoke, slate and orange blossom resonate on the palate. Richly textured and inviting, the 2015 will drink well right out of the gate. This is a gorgeous wine from Kistler, and also a terrific introduction to the vintage.

The 2015 Les Noisetiers Chardonnay has a beautiful nose of ripe peaches, honeysuckle and brioche with a touch of marzipan. Medium to full-bodied with a lovely oiliness to the texture, it has a lot of power and intensity with a long, honeyed peach finish.
Blend from several vineyards close to the winery bottled in late 2016 and released in December 2016. 294 barrels filled. Sold worldwide. Broad, evolved nose. Easy, charming, golden-fruited somehow with a very lightly smoky nose. Already very pleasurable. Not that much tannic grip but no shortage of acidity. And less intensity and persistence than some of these bottlings. (JR)

About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
