Medium red. Aromas and flavors of plum, redcurrant, cherry and smoky minerality lifted by spices and flowers; a bit more deeply pitched than the Combe aux Moines. Suave and silky in the mouth, at once seamless and tightly coiled. Conveys an impression of fullness without weight. A rich, round 2008, finishing with broad tannins and palate-saturating dusty minerality. A superb showing.
Good full, medium red. Deep but somewhat reserved aromas of wild red berries, minerals, iodine and spicy oak, lifted by a floral topnote. Wonderfully concentrated, silky and sweet, with almost shocking early sex appeal. This really stains the palate on the back end, finishing with terrific energy, sweetness and lingering perfume. It's hard to imagine anyone not liking this style.
