Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château La Fleur-Petrus has a fragrant, crushed rose petal bouquet mixed with raspberry coulis and wild strawberry scents, the oak beautifully assimilated and demonstrating fine precision. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity, bright blueberry and black plum notes mixed with cedar and minerals towards the finish. This is turning into a très bon vin! Tasted January 2016.

Tasted blind. Very evolved rim. Attractively evolved, well-knit nose. Round and yet with some freshness. Quite flattering. Appetising. Very mineral. (JR)
Mid ruby. Low-key nose. Very mild and sweet. Gentle, low key with chunky but quite confident tannins. Dry end. Just not enough juicy fruit. Grainy finish. (JR)
About the producer
Château La Fleur-Pétrus was the first acquisition of many in Pomerol by Jean Pierre Moueix, who went on to own Château Trotanoy, Château Hosanna and most notably Pétrus. Jean Pierre Moueix was born in Corèzze in moved to Saint-Émilion with his parent in 1929 following the Great Depression.
