Tasting notes
The 2014 Rieussec is comparatively a little muted on the nose and does not possess the amplitude of others in this flight. The palate makes up for the aromatics with a fresh, Aszu-like entry, a fine bead of acidity and stem ginger and lemongrass elements with a persistent, orange rind finish. This is a dependable Sauternes, though it lacks the fireworks of other vintages. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

Tasted blind. Pale gold. Intense aroma of almond paste. Golden and spicy. Chewy, spicy and golden on the palate, too. A big wine, the grip in the texture accentuating the freshness. More power than elegance. But great intensity. (JH)
Intense and lifted, excellent quality, this has clear depth of flavour, bitter orange, marmalade, saffran, white pepper, cirus, truffle and lime zest, all stretching out through the palate.
