Brilliant straw with golden tinge. Slow to open up to baked apple, vanilla pod and pannacotta, but not too sweet and quite complex. Much less exuberant on the palate, a bit backward even. Minerally notes and completely integrated oak. Hint of bitter almond on the finish, but definitely complex. Has real breed. (WS)

About the producer

Querciabella
Literally translating as “beautiful oak”, Querciabella was created in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni. A pioneer in Chianti, he started farming biodynamically and experimenting with both varieties and winemaking – one result of which was Camartina, the property’s flagship Super Tuscan.
