Tasting notes
Good full red. Red cherry, spices, pepper and a hint of fresh herbs on the nose. Sweet on entry, then tight and bound-up in the middle, rather folded in on itself today in spite of its fine-grained, suave texture. Finishes with noble tannins and an echoing note of black pepper. This will need patience.

Greyish crimson. Really heady and interesting. Soft and luscious and pure pleasure! Roses and 2009 sweetness but not sickly. Kick of dryness on the end keeps it appetising. (JR)
Heady, lively with great energy. Round nose that seems at ease with itself. Very fresh palate. Sweet morello cherry fruit. Real excitement and lots of fruit. Charming, though perhaps not absolutely obviously grand cru quality but definitely more weight in mid palate than the premiers crus. Well done! Sinewy. (JR)
Medium ruby. Brooding aromas of crushed cassis, black cherry, strawberry, bitter chocolate, mint and verbena. Rich-verging-on-unctuous but not roasted, with mineral and violet notes energizing the slightly animal mid-palate. This is really thick with material. Finishes with broad, suave tannins and a late whiff of clove.
