Tasting notes
Where all of its predecessors were quite green gold, this is darker and redder in color. Orange blossom, vanilla, fresh lemon and lemon candy in the nose. Vanilla cream, banana and orange in the mouth, with fine, uplifting acids and a lovely lush texture and striking viscosity. Terrific length with refreshing citrus, brown spices, honey and vanilla. The fruit here was botrytized and lightly frozen as well, and clearly the Eiswein touch is contributing to the lithe acids and elegant structure of this wine, whose botrytis is in fact less noticeable than that of the gold capsule auction Auslese.
