Another wine brought by our generous guest, described by Michael Broadbent MW as 'amazing wine'. Very, very dark tawny. Rich, deep Oxford marmalade colour, and aroma. Scent of beeswax. Soft, rich, nuanced with some brown sugar quality but it's not at all cloying. Even at this age it was still fresh and clean, yet extremely concentrated with notes of burnt sugar and orange peel. A marvel of a wine. (JR)
