The 2018 Barbaresco Montefico Vecchie Viti is exquisite. The 2018 has an exotic sweetness that I don't recall seeing in the past. Silky, elegant and gracious. As with all these wines, the purity of the tannin is what stands out most. Cedar, tobacco, spice and kirsch linger on the pointed, saline finish. This is classic Montefico, with that extra bit of exoticism from the decision to pick as late as possible.
