Score 94/100 · Drink 2030-2060, Neal Martin, Sep 2024
The 2020 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very attractive bouquet, dark berry fruit commingling with black tea and bay leaf. Fine delineation. A subtle marine influence is coming through, although a touch of stemminess emerges with time. The palate is very well-balanced with firm tannins. This is a minerally Grand Cru with ample tension. It's lightly peppered at the finish with great persistence, yet it just slightly clams up in the glass, and I find myself lowering my score. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
