Another catastrophic vintage. Hard and metallic on the palate. Rather like 1997 in its problems. A vintage to forget. Big rot problems. Mid ruby with a wide pale rim. Mature, light nose. Quite delicate and lively – great selection presumably! Pretty tough tannins in the glass but when it was first poured it was reasonably charming. (JR)
