Score 89/100 · Drink 2022-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jul 2022
The 2020 Crognolo is laced with crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice, licorice, dried flowers and sweet pipe tobacco. This mid-weight Tuscan red is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Pretty floral and spice notes reappear on the finish.

The Moretti Cuseri family are the owners of Crognolo, drawn from the 60ha Tenuta Sette Ponti, releasing for the first time through the Bordeaux system this September. Unfussy and enjoyable, with a powerful depth of red cherry fruit and savoury spice on the attack, although it softens fairly quickly in the glass. Aged in a mix of French oak barrels and larger sized oak casks, 3.45ph.
