Score 92/100 · Drink 2019-2026, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, May 2019
The 2016 Crognolo is a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot aged in tonneaux and neutral barrique for up to 14 months. This is a tight and elegantly streamlined wine that sports a very attractive mid-weight style. The wine opens to aromas of red cherry, plum, toasted almond and crushed granite or stone. This vintage is both balanced and bright. Some 130,000 bottles were made.

Sette Ponti's 2016 Crognolo is plump, juicy and radiant, all qualities that make it easy to drink upon release. Succulent red cherry, kirsch, tobacco and dried flowers flesh out in an effortless, unfussy wine that offers tons of immediacy and pleasure.
