Tasting notes
The 2013 Morey Saint-Denis En la Rue Vergy offers brambly red fruit, wet clay and loamy aromas, more evolved than the Les Longeroies by direct comparison. The palate is a little softer on the entry, with slightly earthy red fruit and more pronounced secondary notes on the finish that attenuate a bit sharply. Drink soon.

Mid to dark ruby. Heady and quite rich. A little severe on the end. Wait for this. Chalky tannins. (JR)
The 2013 Morey St Denis en la Rue de Vergy, which sees 30% new oak, has a very expressive transparent nose that to be prosaic for a moment, is just pure unadulterated 100% Pinoté! The palate continues with a very feminine, lithe texture that is extremely pure and it is blessed with a beautiful confit-like finish. This is one of the most elegant wines from this appellation that I have encountered.
