Tasting notes
The 2014 Carnasciale is absolutely gorgeous. Expressive, deep Cabernet Franc aromatics make a strong opening statement, with a host of black pepper, spice, lavender, espresso and mocha notes front and center. In 2014, Carnasciale, the estate's second wine, is especially pungent, but it also has enough fruit to play off the more savory nuances that are so prominent. What a gorgeous wine this is!

Moritz Rogosky and his family have made impressive wines in this difficult growing season. The 2014 Carnasciale is a pure expression of the property's unique Caberlot grapes. The wine shows a dark and rich appearance with thick hues of black, purple and crimson. The bouquet offers dark fruit, crushed white pepper, dried herb and olive. The robust and deeply enriched texture of the wine wraps thickly over the palate and fuels lasting intensity and power.
Deep crimson. Gorgeous nose of French oak and red fruits with a hint of lead pencil and a note of red bell pepper betraying the cool vintage. Definitely has an international polish to it, but so well done, one cannot but admire it. Silky tannins and quite concentrated palate while the acidity keeps it supple. Truly a 'second vin' to be drunk while waiting for the Il Caberlot to age.
