Tasting notes
100% Tempranillo. A blend of several villages from Burgos and Valladolid. A mix of soils with clay, sand and limestone. Hand-harvested. Fermentation in stainless-steel vats. Malolactic conversion in new French oak barrels. Aged 18 months in new and used French and American oak barrels, then 42 further months in bottle. 200,000 bottles produced. Tasted blind. A complex and very complete wine. Good blend of ripe black fruit with hints of violet and toasted wood (vanilla and cedar). Modern and with good winemaking. On the palate, this shows notes of chocolate, cocoa and black liquorice. Sweet tannins with a round and sweet profile. A complete wine that will look great at any event. The low yields (barely 2,500 kg/ha) are responsible for this great depth of flavour. (FC)
