The 2019 Gattinara Molsino is a dark, brooding wine. Smoke, incense, licorice and leather open in the glass, but only with great reluctance. A wine of tremendous persistence and presence, the Molsino is so impressive in 2019. It is also embryonic and in need of cellaring. The only question is how long. Time in the glass brings out the wine's natural resonance, offering a glimpse of what will come in time.

Coming from one of the great sites from the volcanic soils of Gattinara, the 2019 Gattinara Molssino is smoky, with a darker profile of black and red fruits and notes of black cherry, leather, and wet asphalt. This medium-bodied red offers wonderful concentration and purity, with ripe yet present tannins as well as notes of gravelly earth, cranberry, and tea leaf. It is an outstanding wine expressive of its more northern terroir to drink over the coming 15 years.
