Tasting notes
There’s boldness and energy to this with superb concentration of fruit and density, yet it remains agile and lively with length and drive. The flavors are superbly complex and subtle with ripe-apple, cream, honeysuckle, mineral and hot-stone undertones. Goes on for minutes. This is one for the cellar. Impressive to taste now, but one to try in 2023 and onwards to appreciate its full potential.

The 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles Grand Cru is quite reserved, unwinding in the glass to reveal notions of citrus oil, pear and wheat toast, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered palate that's promisingly tensile and penetrating.
Cask sample. More spicy on the nose than the Corton-Charlemagne and more precision and intensity on the palate, but it is still not particularly intense – typical 2018. (JH)
About the producer
The Latour family has been growing vines in Burgundy since at least 1731. Their négociant business – today one of the region’s biggest names – was founded in 1797. Still family-owned today, the company owns 48 hectares of vines, 27 of which are Grand Cru, as well as its own cooperage.
