Tasting notes
A gorgeous hint of lime-edged greengage slips through flinty reduction on the nose of the 2021 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spätlese Gold Capsule. The palate carries that savory lime and grapefruit spice along, allows it to tingle and shine, play and shimmer. This is most intriguing, aromatic, playful and oh so fresh. (Sweet)

The 2021 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spätlese (Golden Capsule / Auction) is beautifully pure, bright and flinty on the coolish and highly elegant nose that celebrates crushed slate as well as perfectly ripe and concentrated but hearty Riesling berries. Round and intense on the palate, this is a dense but pure, fresh and salty/savory Sonnenuhr with a long and complex yet highly stimulating and mouth-watering finish. The wine will be auctioned in Trier in September this year, so the price will probably be at about 100+ euros per bottle. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 23 22 in May 2023.
