Tasting notes
There is always an extra degree of finesse in the wines from Château Chalon, and the 2012 Château Chalon is more closed and austere, with some citrus bitterness, great freshness and finesse. It's detailed and nuanced, with a clearly salty finish. This feels light but super intense and deep. This is a concentrated vintage with very high acidity, and the yields in Savagnin make a big, big difference. This is like a ballet dancer—it feels light on its feet, but it's very powerful. 1,400 bottles produced.
