2000 Rauenthaler Nonnenberg Riesling

Green herbs, lemon zest and delicate florality on the nose. In the mouth this is oily, smoky and meaty; more intense and gripping than the aroma would lead one to expect, but a nice inner-mouth floral bouquet emerges. Brothy and chalky, the finish shows rich nut oil character and a whiff of smoke and flowers. 1 star.
