2014 Sei Solo

100% old-vine Tempranillo (60-100 years). Aged in French demi-muids. Same wine as the Preludio but a selection of the best barrels. This is a barrel sample but pretty much the final wine. Darkest cherry red. Very similar to the Preludio but a noticeable refinement, particularly in the texture. Finesse as well as power here. Darker, more savoury, with that coal-like darkness of the best old vines on the best sites. Long and so refined. Dark and charred on the finish, almost so dark the fruit is hidden. Fabulous.
