The 2014 Crognolo is Sangiovese and a smaller part Merlot from the up-and-coming Valdarno area of Eastern Tuscany. The wine shows ripe cherry flavors that come as a surprise given the generally cooler and wetter nature of this vintage. Despite those ripe and soft fruit aromas that you encounter on the bouquet, the wine shows a thinner and less intense approach in the mouth.

Sette Ponti's 2014 Crognolo is an attractive Sangiovese/Merlot blend. Succulent and inviting, the Crognolo offers up an intriguing mélange of sweet red cherry, tobacco, herbs and licorice, with an extra kick of md-palate depth from the Merlot. This is very nicely done for the year.
