Tasting notes
(Outstanding Top Value)
A pretty, fresh and ripe nose speaks of aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, pomegranate and plenty of spice suggestions. The finer and more tightly wound flavors exude a refreshing salinity on the complex, long and well-balanced finale. This is a quality Chambolle villages that is worth considering.
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cabottes was showing especially well, soaring from the glass with a lavish bouquet of cherries, ripe wild berries, candied peel and spices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, with lively acids, melting tannins and a long, precise finish. More dynamic than Tremblay's Morey-Saint-Denis and less introverted than her Vosne-Romanée, this is one of the portfolio's highlights.
