Drink 2015, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2015
The 2014 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru les Suchots had been racked two weeks previously, as the wine needed to be aerated in order to assimilate the tannins. It was cropped at 30 hectoliters per hectare instead of 40 hectoliters per hectare for the other premier crus. It is more introverted and less expressive than les Brûlées at the moment and needed coaxing from the glass. Still, it remains bashful for a Suchots. The palate is medium-bodied with a lactic, almost chocolaty note on the entry. I feel this is a little out of sorts at the moment, and so I will wait and revisit this later.
