Score 91/100 · Drink 2026-2045, Neal Martin, Jan 2022
The 2017 Chambertin Grand Cru feels a little volatile on the nose of black and blue fruit and cherry liqueur, quite high-toned but missing a little grace. The palate is framed by saturated tannins, delivering plush black cherry and blueberry fruit but lower acidity than its peers, and as such, it lacks some complexity and terroir expression on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
