Grenache and Rolle, but not estate fruit. Partly vinified in stainless steel, partly in 600-litre oak barrels. Super-pale, more like a white wine, really. Slightly smoky. A hint of mandarin, polished, well made. But a bit soulless. I'm not sure I'd part with £30 for this. (TC)

Full, flask bottle 1,340 g. Extremely pale, even paler than Whispering Angel from the same stable. Almost white. Good smooth, flattering texture and a degree of salinity on the finish. Definitely worth paying the premium for this. Salivatory and with a bit of guts. Though there's just a little obvious sweetness on the end. (JR)
