Tasting notes
From Forst's prestigious single vineyard close to the Kirchenstück, the 2021 Ungeheuer GG is clear, cool and fresh on the bright, spicy nose. In the mouth, it is creamy and quite sweet, very fruity and still very young, although pleasing. With comparatively mild acidity but endowed with a fine saltiness, Mosbacher's Ungeheuer will find itself in the bottle in the next few years. 12.5% stated alcohol. Tasted in Wiesbaden, August 2022.

Certified organic. AP number 44 22. 'Darker' in aroma but less exotic than the Pechstein. Slightly smoky, and strongly rocky/mineral but still perfumed. An intriguing wine that is hard to describe. Powerful on the palate, especially for a wine of 12.5%. Direct, long and deeply satisfying. GV (JH)
