2020 Vulkan Spatburgunder

40% whole cluster. 18 months in small, used barriques. Weathered volcanic soils from the Kaiserstuhl. Expressive, juicy aromas alternate with serious, tense and spicy depths. Black fruit, damson plum (beach plum, actually, for any readers from Massachussets), bay leaf and black pepper. A cool, tightly woven character emerges growing more slender, agile and focused as time goes on. Plenty of grip, power and potential. (PS)
