Tasting notes
Full bottle 1,312 g. 65% Zinfandel, 26% Petite Sirah, 5% Syrah, 4% Alicante Bouschet. Blend of different parcels of vines. Aged for 12 months in barrel after spontaneous fermentation and malo. One per cent water and some tartaric acid addition specified on the back label. Only five years' evolution predicted in January 2023. Bright shaded garnet – medium transparency. Meaty nose again! With a little hint of treacle/molasses. Subtle, complex nose. Medium intensity of fruit and very savoury, dry finish. Really appetising – much more so than the 2022 Three Valleys. Long, with no single ingredient standing out. Suave, long and velvety. (JR)
