Tasting notes
Tor's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Vine Hill Ranch features gentle sage and bay leaf nuances married to black cherries and dusty earth notes. Full-bodied, concentrated and rich, with a velvety texture, this terrific wine finishes long and elegant, with complex, savory notes of loam and clean compost lingering on the finish.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Vine Hill Ranch Vineyard is glorious. Dark and expansive on the palate, the 2019 is just stunning right out of the gate. Plum, blackberry, sage, tobacco, leather, spice and incense all build over time. The Vine Hill Cabernet is not quite as sensual as the Pure Magic, but it more than makes up for that with its mysterious, beguiling personality. There is plenty of sheer allure, that much is obvious.
Another release from Oakville, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Vine Hill Ranch Vineyard is almost all Cabernet (there's 1% Petit Verdot) and comes from a single, rocky parcel in the vineyard. It has incredible purity in its cassis, spring flower, spicy oak, graphite, and subtle iron aromas and flavors. A singular wine in the lineup with its pure, focused, balanced, almost old school style, this medium to full-bodied, incredibly impressive 2019 has solid mid-palate density, ripe, velvety tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It's the purity of fruit, balance, and quality of the tannins that set this beauty apart. Hide bottles for 3-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades.
Gorgeous crème de cassis, graphite, and chocolate notes dominate the bouquet of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Vine Hill Ranch, which comes from the rockiest portion of this site in Oakville. With full-bodied richness, a pure, elegant texture, and a powerful mid-palate, it's not far from the style of the 2018 yet might be a tad more focused and elegant. It's a beautiful wine that will benefit from bottle age.
