Tasting notes
The Vaucopins is undoubtedly one of the most exciting Premiers Crus on the right bank of Chablis in 2019, whose terroir profile succinctly fits the style of the vintage. Being on the right bank it has that power and intensity, but also displays distinct, chiselled minerality, combining both rich fruit tones and pulsing, mouthwatering salinity. A distinctly aromatic Chablis, notes of white flower, ginger and a hint of rose water couple with more savoury dried straw and stone aromas. It’s concentrated on the palate, with great breadth. Rich and fleshy, it’s interlaced with vibrant acid and lots of salinity. There is a real kick of energy on the finish as the pristine citrus fruit tones linger on the long finish.
