The 2019 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese is intense as well as refined and expressive on the pure, complex and elegant yet still pretty reductive nose. On the palate, this is an exuberantly juicy and sweet but refined and very elegant Sonnenuhr Spätlese with a piquant and refreshing finish. The finish is intense, juicy and beautifully aromatic. This is a Spätlese to cellar for at least a decade. Tasted from AP 1620 in May 2020.

AP number 16 20. TA 8.9 g/l, RS 96 g/l. Intense and introvert on the nose. Floral explosion on the palate. Extremely juicy and nicely balanced. This seems nimbler than the Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett. Great delicacy. Wonderful freshness and length. Real vibrato on the end. (JR)
