2018 Chablis Amiral Vernon

We were particularly taken with Remoissenet's village Chablis Amiral Vernon in 2018. In a wonderfully generous vintage, this wine impressed us with its bright lemon fruit profile, elegant chalky minerality, superb focus and precision, and perfectly balanced weight and texture that leads into a fresh and saline finish. This is classic Chablis through and through. Remoissenet's Premier and Grand Cru Chablis, it goes without saying, are also fantastic. With the quality and experience of the people behind this wine, it is not surprising that the Chablis punches well above its village classification. Bright lemon zest and sherbet, with green apple and a hint of riper peach fruit, accompanied by a cool pebble and chalk mineral note on the nose and palate. Great vibrancy on the palate, with mouthwatering citrus acidity balanced by a lovely texture and weight that carries through to the clean, saline finish. Focused, precise and layered, this is great textbook Chablis.
