Drink 2021-2026, Vinfolio, Jul 2021

From the nose to the palate, this wine’s concentration of aroma, tannin and fruit would make it stand out in any Bourgogne Rouge line-up. The grapes comes from 45-50 year old vines based in the villages of Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis. Fermented with 40% whole-cluster and aged in 30% new oak, there is a lifted herbal character and freshness to the beautifully pristine, redcurrant fruit. The wine is wonderfully integrated, perfumed and freshened by peppery mineral notes giving energy and verve. The fine, sinewy tannins add lovely breadth to the palate, the balsamic, herbal and juniper flavours adding complexity. This is really impressive and drinking beautifully now.
