2014 Nereus Clare Valley

Shiraz plus a tiny amount of N ero d’Avola, matured in French oak (30% new barriques) 24 months. Fruit from three private growers. Bright crimson. Purple berry fruit. Round and fresh. There is real lift here. But it’s a baby. Nothing like the Rhône. Nothing like Barossa. Its own thing! Fairly chewy still. Long. (JR)
