Tasting notes
Old vines (80+ years) planted on granite at 600–750 m. Field blend of Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, Arinto, etc. A light note of smoky reduction and the cedary notes of smart oak barrels. Creamy in the mouth and so wonderfully fresh and energetic. Intense, long and deep. Still very youthful and more to come. (JH)

Arinto, Rabigato, Côdega de Larinho, and others. 12 months in 228-litre French oak and five months in stainless-steel vats. Horribly heavy bottle. Creamy, oatmeal citrus but the oak ferment is subtle. More noticeable on the palate, which is very creamy with a note of orange pith. Dry, almost chalky in texture but mouth-watering on the creamy citrus finish. Burgundian style but without the struck match. (JH)
