100% new oak ie one new barrel! Highest part of Clos de Bèze, very tough soil and just by the forest. ‘I made the wine thinking I’d have a monster but it’s beautiful and more ethereal than power’. Very sweet and round and denser than the Bonnes Mares. Very transparent. Very interesting! Apparently it has taken a year to wake up. Very fresh on the finish. No great density. (JR)
