Tasting notes
Whole-bunch fermented, indigenous yeasts and aged in old oak. 800 bottles made. This is the second time that a South African Cinsault has stopped me in my tracks with that breathtaking moment of: this is not only extraordinary but this is utterly unique. Quietly popping with white pepper and red fruit so bright and so pure that all I could think of was electric cranberries. There's a kind of Loire-Cabernet-Franc graphite note to this. Zinging with life. Sweet but dry, a sly hint of aniseed, mouthwatering length. (TC)
