Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2016-2024, Walter Speller, jancisrobinson.com, Mar 2016
Cask sample. Mid ruby that is quite impressively concentrated for this vintage. Subtle nose of raspberry, a hint of tobacco, orange peel and cherry. Already a little progressed, but showing real energy. Really pretty and fresh focused raspberry. Glorious on the palate, with fine and firm tannins on the finish. So unlike any other Rosso di Montalcino from this vintage. Pure class. (WS)

About the producer

Cerbaiona
A cult address for many Italian fine wine lovers, Cerbaiona is one of Montalcino’s top estates. The site has long been identified as special, but it was Diego Molinari who established its reputation. Today, Matthew Fioretti is at the helm, bringing the estate into the modern era.
