Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2015-2018, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Aug 2015

Nasty Integra synthetic closure. Made in a solera. 30% blend from vintages since 2010, 70% from 2013. Bottled 2015. 80% Sangiovese, 13% Merlot, 7% Syrah. Vines aged 15 years in Vincigliata, Fiesole, Rufina, Greve, Panzano and Siena. Unoaked. Mid to deep cherry red. Unusual aroma that is both stony/mineral and mildly floral but also has plenty of fresh small-berried red fruit and a touch of orange. Lovely fragrance. Tannins are a bit chewy but nicely so. Fresh and incredibly moreish and mouthwatering – I think it would be easy to drink several glasses of this but it would still be great with food. Juicy finish full of bright red cherry freshness. Both satisfying and energising. GV (JH)

About the producer

Bibi Graetz 1:1
Bibi Graetz

Based just outside Florence, Bibi Graetz is something of a maverick in the Tuscan wine scene. Working with old vineyards of indigenous grapes around Chianti, he produces intense wines classified as IGT Toscana; not fitting neatly in either the Super Tuscan or Chianti camp.
