Love the aromas of dried apricots and lemons with minerals and hints of dry ice. Full body with a fabulous density, yet fresh and agile. Medium sweet. Great intensity. Drink or hold. Better to decant it if you drink it young.

Fine almond and herbal aromas intertwined with stony and fine Riesling raisin aromas to open the noble sweet 2013 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Gold Capsule (AP #23 14). Concentrated, sweet and highly elegant in texture, everything is perfectly interwoven here: sweetness, minerals, acidity and fruit. The finish is juicy, salty and extremely noble and the alcohol volume of 8% will lend this wine a lovely drink window of 20+ years.
Not bottled. Much more herbal on the nose than the equivalent wine without the Goldkapsel. More obviously mineral on the nose and tastes a good deal sweeter. Lovely tight profile, all tucked in though it is full of fruit at the core, apricot and lemon. Fabulous length. A baby with a great future. (JH)
