Score 18/20 · Drink 2012-2018, Jancis Robinson MW, Dec 2012
The new owners (Pinault) did a bottling of the blend that was already done. They just removed one barrel – sent it to distillation. 2010 was a very good vintage anyway. 40% heavily toasted new oak. 60% unoaked. NB vintage. Smells of pears and May blossom. Really quite rich. You could hardly have more contrast between this and the 2011! Big and mealy… Not so smoky and reductive. Some honey. (JR)
