2013 Munjebel Rosso 10 MC

The 2013 Munjebel hits the nose with a pungent and direct style. While this wine shows good fruit clarity it also carries the earmark weightiness of the natural wine category. Caramel, butterscotch and wet cardboard are some of the descriptors that come to my mind. You get dried prune, candied orange peel and pine nut. Yes, this collection of aromas is all over the place and that is ultimately Munjebel's most charming feature. Again, like all of Frank Cornelisen's wines, this bottle will speak to a certain type of consumer.
