Tasting notes
Bright red-ruby. Slightly reduced but highly nuanced aromas of rose petal, mocha, dark chocolate and smoke. Sweet, round, creamy and seamless, with fleshy flavors of raspberry, iron and blood orange. Broad, lush and silky but not heavy. Finishes very long, with suave, thoroughly ripe tannins. A superb showing.

Medium ruby. Somewhat brutal aromas of blackberry, cassis, violet and minerals. Tightly wound and rather tough, and much less sweet and creamy than the uncanny La Richemone. But this very backward wine has a powerful mineral backbone to support its black fruit, game and leather flavors. Finishes very long and violety. Perrot told me this parcel is located next to Rousseau's holding of Chambertin.
