Drink 0-0, David Schildknecht, Vinous
"Each of these two Fuder-numbered Auslesen," explained von Schubert, "was the result of picking over the entire vineyard for a bit of botrytis fruit." Rather low-toned. Toasted nuts, mocha and cooked peach. Here there the first somewhat obvious manifestation of botrytis spice and faint heat. Incredibly dense palate stuffed with peaches, nuts and berries. Slight but attractive bitter notes of fruit skin and sheer mineral extract. Takes forever to finish. Dilute this wine by half and I think you would still have a great Auslese.
