Mid-colour. Quite light. Fresh, lively nose. Much lighter than Fourcas-Hosten. Very dry finish. Sandy tannins. Definitely lean. Honestly, it’s difficult to see how this withstands competition from wine reared in warmer climes. (JR)

Mid-crimson with weak rim. Full, ripe, slightly soupy nose without great definition. Slightly skinny, austere palate attack. Underripe tannins. Certain greenness but very impressive nose. Very dry finish. Will always be a bit austere, I think. (JR)
About the producer

Fourcas Dupre
This estate saw a transformation when Guy Pagès bought it in 1970. His work, driving quality higher with increasing attention to detail and passion, has been continued by his son Patrice, who took over in 1985.
