Founder Ivan Donaldson planted these vines because he liked Bordeaux whites. Natural ferment. Semillon is barrel fermented but in old barrels. No malo and on lees for eight to 10 months. Ripe grapefruit and citrusy but complex and dry. Lanolin edge. Savoury, slightly mealy, dry and a light grip. Ageing beautifully with the structure gained through lees ageing. More texture than simple fruit. Really fresh. Semillon fills out the mid palate. Mineral finish. (JH)
