Score 87-89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2009

Good bright medium red. Reduced aromas of red fruits and flowers. Silky on entry, then tight in the middle palate, with a medicinal austerity and underlying stoniness giving the wine a firm edge. The red cherry flavor is complicated by a whiff of game. Usually it's the Lavaux that's more minerally and hard, notes Eric Rousseau, who points out that this cuvee features the highest average vine age of the domain.

Pale bright cherry. Slightly reduced, good fresh light fruit. Definitely strongly 07 in terms of light and easy. Doubtless will gain in bottle but much later than most. Some sinew. (JR)
