Score 16/20 · Drink 2006-2012, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2003

Second wine of Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste. Absolutely classic Médoc nose (plus the slightest hint of residual oak). Relatively lightweight, 'lunchtime 2000 claret' but all in balance. The acidity is perhaps slightly too obvious for a higher mark. (JR)
